World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is used (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The Best item upgrader upgrading system allows players to increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment the original item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can increase in price even if you don't need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have an initial level and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is very important in PvP. Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item upgrader can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state, which requires the player to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value.
