And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the automatic vacuum and mop's power and adjusts cleaning robot mop and vacuum frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty these areas tend to be.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a specific area of your home via the app or voice controls.
