1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. It also mopses using a single pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map.
