It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. It also features a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

It even cleans the floor after it vacuums it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the boxy units of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers.
