For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few seconds.

This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an easy mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro).
